Dancing Butterflies

Apollo butterflies have beautiful white bodies with eyespots on their wings. The forewings have black eyespots and the hindwings are decorated with attractive four red eyespots. These butterflies can be found in France, Italy, and Spain. Apollo butterflies are among the most threatened species of butterflies in Europe.
These butterflies are known for their defensive strategy. The larvae form of apollo butterflies are deep dark in color and exhibit camouflage using the color. Since adult butterflies cannot use this technique due to their red eyespots they instead produce a foul smell to threaten predators.

When I saw the photos of some of these pigeons in my mind I pictured all the pigeons I had fed in my life in all kinds of city parks. Usually, they were gray, some with colored feathers around the neck, some gray, and some white. Who knew there were any other kinds?
Discovering more about pigeons I learned that the common city pigeon is called the rock pigeon and might have been the very first bird domesticated by humans. These pigeons are featured as figurines, shown in mosaics, and on coins from ancient Mesopotamia since at least 4500 BC.

Of the genus, Oophaga the most toxic frogs are the strawberry poison dart frogs. These frogs make their home in Central America. They change hues and can be totally red to a denim kind of color or even green with black spots. is changing and can be completely red to a “blue jeans” kind of color or all the way to green with black spots.
Native to the Amazon rainforests of Ecuador and Peru the red-backed poison dart frogs are similar in coloring to the splash-back. These frogs can kill smaller predators like birds and can cause serious injury to humans. The frogs get their toxicity from the neurotoxic venom that is in the ants they eat.
