Saying Goodbye To 2015! Come On 2016!!!!!

The best of farm life and wonderful pictures of donkeys and other animals

Donkey Whisperer Farm Blog

Hubby and I have been working on our farm since August of 2013. Another year has quickly disappeared, so many great and sad things have come and gone. We are most grateful to GOD for keeping us healthy; emotionally, physically and mentally. We are fifty-five now and this is one of our final bucket list destinations. Living our life simpler with less stress. 2016 we will celebrate our twenty-third year as a couple. Wow!

Great things:

Arena completed.

Hay cut and donated to starving horses as we will grow low sugar/protein hay (sell).

Enjoyed the Olympic Mountains over and over again.

Fences completed, stained.

I created an amazing food garden out of hanging baskets. After the house is completed I will have raised beds.IMG_20150519_133142IMG_20150519_133656IMG_20150519_133744Living in the 5th wheel has been a challenge in the winter seasons but extremely easy in the spring, summer and fall as we have full…

Remembering the Past Year

Cool Riga Pics 129.jpgCool Riga Pics 130.jpg

This past year

was purrfect for me

enjoyed it a lot

the days of summer

upon my garden fence

the sky so blue

and bees buzzing about

early morning choruses

with song birds on the wing

climbing high into the trees

to join the birds in song

into autumn time

and reflecting on what has been

always keeping my

lights brightly burning

in the winter

the snow makes it too cold

to sit upon the ground

so now I wait for spring to come

Guest Star: Max’s and his owl

I too love owls. Do you?

Hi everyone,

Please find below a guest post by Max’s dad Tim!

I don’t get to write too many of these stories, because as a rule I am the one that is forever being dictated to. It goes like this, Max tells me what to write and I obediently do as I am told. That’s part of being staff, gotta do as you are told by the Felines.

But we are going to try something different with this piece. This is strictly what I observed when one night not to long ago. As all good stories go there was a knock at the front door. I opened it and there stood the UPS man with a box in his arms. It was for Max, but I signed for it myself. Mr. Wonderful was sacked out in the back of the trailer someplace and no doubt wouldn’t want to be disturbed.

Purrsday Poetry: The Christmas Tree

These kittens are so adorable. Delightful poetry.

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by Bernie Colley.

The Christmas Tree

The kittens gathered round to see
the Christmas tree arrive
they wondered what this thing could be
as it was carried up the drive

Once inside a pot was found
and filled with earth and sand
the tree was placed like in the ground
and left alone to stand

The kittens went to investigate
and sniffed and sneezed away
until the time to decorate
was once more under way

Tinsel wrapped around the tree
and balls of glittering light
fairy lights that they could see
were a fascinating sight

cat in tree

The mother cat warned them away
and said do not go near
or Santa will not come your way
her warning was quite clear

The kittens swore they would be good
as Christmas eve drew near
they curled up where the big clock…

Colorado Kitty Pot is the Finest Catnip you can purchase, but the best part is that Colorado Kitty Pot is a social enterprise of Harley’s Hope Foundation, a charity that exists to ensure low and fixed income pet parents and their companion or service animals remain together when issues arise.

100% of the proceeds from the sale of Colorado Kitty Pot merchandise goes to benefit the Foundation’s three direct assistance programs – Pet Assistance Fund, Service Animal Aid Fund, and the Senior Services Project – that provide help ranging from financial assistance for major care, to resource referrals, to actual foster care for animals with people who are temporarily unable to care for them.

If you are thinking of buying some Kitty Pot for your kitties you will be helping other kitties and families and I think that is Pawsome! When you do receive you catnip it comes loose…

Tips & Advice: Cats versus Christmas Trees

My Sid sends his most sincere meows to his furry friends near and far and wishes them all a purrrfectly wonderful Christmas

Katzenworld - Old please follow the main Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Please find below some useful tips in form of a Guest Post by the team from Pets at Home:

Cats versus Christmas Trees

Christmas trees and cats enjoy a special relationship when the festive period rolls around – the thrill of clambering up a tree in the warmth and comfort of their own homes is almost too much for any cat to resist. And with the added bonus of colourful balls and tassels to bat down and play with, who could blame them for wreaking havoc on the decorations?

Unfortunately, a cat’s trademark loveable curiosity means that those seeking the fresh, piney smell of a real Christmas tree should probably think again – pine needles can be harmful to cats in a number of ways, from their physical sharpness to the toxicity of some types. An artificial tree will be much more compatible with your festive feline’s…
